| Topeka | Tour of Topeka. Tour of Topeka is a ride/run event celebrating the connecting of Shawnee County Parks + Recreation’s trail system across the community. Festivities begin at Dornwood Park. The bicycle rides and 5K run/walk leave via the new Deer Creek Trail Extension. Cyclists can choose from a 33.6-mile route along the Shunga, Deer Creek, and Lake Shawnee Trails and back to Dornwood, a 10-mile route to and around Lake Shawnee, or an out-and back 5K route along the Deer Creek Trail.
